Let me start by saying that I was greeted with love when I walked in, a few patrons awaited their orders at the main bar stool setting and then on both side of Blackie's you have a few tables that you can both sit and enjoy your meal with friends.
I ordered 2 with a large drink. On one dog, I simply added mustard and on the other, the spicy relish; which believe you / me, is NOTHING to shake a stick at but we will get there momentarily.
My initial bite of the mustard topped dog was a good one. I have and always will love the snap on the skin of a good dog and that is exactly what i had received. My only gripe (small) is that the hotdogs could be a bit more beefy baby!! I want that supreme thickness and my dogs looked as if they had missed a few meals but whatever, they were still good with flavor......The bun was soft and lightly toasted, nothing too crazy and that type of crispy just adds to an already amazing hotdog IMO.
Now the second hotdog with the spicy relish, prepare yourselves on this adventure for that is exactly what is happening once you take a bite....The first bite was a sizzle reel, nothing out of the ordinary with a slight kick to it but the 2nd and 3rd bite?!?!? WOAH BABY!!!!
We went from a small 4 cylinder engine to a V8 that will set your whole diet straight! All of those SPICY HORSES were kicking up off in my mouth. I received side of the tongue sizzle...Back of the throat sizzle and a little chest smack on its way down, it spoke to my soul the way GOOD SPICY RELISH IS SUPPOSED TO!!!!!

You can never go wrong with Blackie's! They have the best relish around! Good service too!

My husband and my step father live the hot dogs! Can't seem to drive by without turning in to grab a few to go! A landmark at the Cheshire Waterbury line!

I'm not sure why food network or the travel channel hasn't been here yet because of how good Blackie's is. Its simple menu ensures that your order can't be messed up. I've never had a hot dog that snaps the way Blackie's does. My favorite order is 2 with a chocolate milk and chips while sitting at the counter.

The Hype was so not worth it. Backyard dogs are much better. They are not bad but not amazing.
The staff picks and chooses who they will serve. Doesn't matter who came after you.
If they know them they will blatantly serve them first.
Only one young waitress was very polite and professional. I wish I knew her name so she could get the credit.
Lots of other dog stands with imho better food and definitely better service!
